DIRGE OF THE NATION; NEVER SAY DIE

Nigeria our own great nation in tension

To uphold the peace of this great nation

On no occasion shall you be indifferent

So work and act with utmost commitment


The enemies are bracing their bows

Terrorist are detonating their bombs

Then like the eagle we soar on high

In search for peace and shelter we sigh


This hair-raising insecurity is avoidable

Since the boundless monsters are indictable

Loss of lives and properties yet no sympathy

Who shall restore our loved city? Is our anxiety


Every day we pray for lasting change

Till this moment evils go out of range

On papers bribery appears on every page

Sleaze and Corruption are the artiste on stage


Now it’s a new regime leaders are zealous

Slowly but surely they become insidious

What a nation of monetary perversion

Furors all over; an outcry for caution


We are calling for a well and better nation

Let us move for the prayers of this motion

One day we shall restore our fatherland

then peace and justice shall reign in our land
