2 Timothy 1:1-3, 6-12; Psalm 122; Mark 12:18-27🔥🔥🔥🗣
As at the time Paul wrote the first reading of today, he was in prison in Rome and was unable to proclaim the Good News and so he encouraged Timothy to continue the work in his place. He told Timothy to fan into flame the spirit he had received. This message is for all of us. We shall grow cold if will don’t fan into flame the Spirit we have received. It was such active spiritual life that led Charles Lwanga and companions – young men, to resist the impure demands of the King. They accepted death because for them as Jesus said in the gospel, God is the God of the living and those who have died – such as Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – are alive with God. This promise awaits us if we don’t fail to always resist the impure demands of the world. We pray for our youth in a special way today for the spirit of true repentance and conversion. St. Charles Lwanga patron saint of youth in Africa, pray for us!
