HOMILY FOR  THE FOURTEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II

Hosea 11:1-4, 8-9; Psalm 80; Matthew 10:7-15

In the first reading we are presented with God’s continued love for his people despite their sins. The secret is that God is not interested in the death of a sinner rather let him turn from his evil ways and live. On the other hand, the gospel of today presents us with the Lord’s instructions to the Twelve before they went out in his name. Beloved in Christ, we must never neglect the Lord’s instruction for every mission we embark upon. If we neglect the Lord’s instructions we shall end up in destruction. Save us Lord.

PRAYER FOR OBEDIENCE

Dear God, please give me a humble heart to yield to your instructions at all times, so that I can prosper. Help me to obey you and let me be flexible for Holy Spirit’s guidance. Let me follow when you lead, and let me be willing to receive your blessings whenever you are ready to hand them over.
