HOMILY FOR MONDAY  OF THE SIXTEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME

Micah 6:1-4, 6-8; Psalm 50; Matthew 12:38-42

The people’s hardness of heart was seen in the first reading and in the gospel reading. In spite of the many miracles our Lord worked for them, they continue to demand signs from him to prove his divinity. Christians today are always searching for signs and wonders for this reason many Christians are wanderers. Christ likens himself to Jonah who spent three days in the belly of the whale. This implies that the greatest sign is his death, burial and resurrection. This is the basis of our faith that guarantees perpetual believe without doubting. Search for signs therefore, implies ingratitude, hardness of heart and non-beneficiaries of his sacrificial love. Beloved, let us seek for Jesus instead of a sign.

The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Today, while I was at work, my sister stole my iphone and tested to see
if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is
now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is entirely
off topic but I had to share it with someone!

Hey there! I know this is kind of off topic but
I was wondering if you knew where I could get a captcha plugin for my comment form?
I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having problems finding one?
    Thanks a lot!
