HOMILY FOR THURSDAY: SEVENTEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME

Jeremiah 18:1-6; Psalm 146; Matthew 13:47-53

In the first reading we are told that the potter gradually reshapes and moulds something which goes wrong. In the Gospel, Christ tells us that the good and the bad will be sifted on judgment day and only the good will be allowed in to the kingdom. We must allow the Gospel message to mould us each day into better Christians just as the potter moulds his clay.

REPENTANCE PRAYER

Dear Jesus Christ, I believe that you are the Son of God who died for sinners. You died on the cross for my sins and resurrected on the third day to give me the gift of eternal life. Therefore, I believe that you are the savior. I confess you as my Lord, and I accept you as my personal Savior. I confess my sins and I forsake them. I ask for your grace to remain faithful to you, and I will serve you throughout the days of my life. Please write my name in the book of life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
