1 CORINTHIANS 12:31-13:13; PSALM 33; LUKE 7:31-35
In today’s first reading, Paul presents us with the striking issue of love and encourages us to desire higher gifts. Beloved, all gifts without love is vain. Love never ends but other gifts will pass away. Therefore, desire love and be enlisted in heaven. St. Paul further presented the nature of love, he says love is patient, it is kind, it is not arrogant, love is not jealous, love is not rude, love is not boastful etc. Therefore, we must learn to be easy with people and be careful with hasty and rash passing of judgment as Christ told the Pharisees and scribes in the Gospel reading.
LET US PRAY
God our Father, in Saints Cornelius and Cyprian, You have given Your people an inspiring example of dedication to the pastoral ministry and constant witness to Christ in their suffering. May their prayers and faith give us courage to work for the unity of Your Church. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
