Galatians 5:18-25; Psalm 1; Luke 11:42-46
Paul tells us today that “those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions.” Those who belong to Christ are those who have been baptized and called to give expressions to the fruits of the Spirit. This is how we can build up the body of Christ and secure eternal life. Beloved, if we must grow in this kingdom we must die to the flesh. The Pharisees were always in the temple but they were living according to the flesh. They represent all those who are using religious gatherings to massage their appetite. Paul says that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Let us pray
Father, today, fill me with the fruit of the Spirit. Help me to live by the Spirit, and not by the flesh. Let me lead by example, and show my spouse and my children love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, through your Spirit. Amen.
