DIVINE CALL AND RESPONSE
Genesis 12:1
The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.
MEDITATION
God’s call is a call to separation from the world and sin. Part of the reason that Abraham needed to leave his country, family, and household was because of temptations associated with them. Ur, though a prosperous city, was full of idolatry and Abraham’s family worshiped idols. So, God called Abraham to leave his family and country to separate him from those temptations. Your call is an automatic separation from background or household idols and sins. It is also a separation from such mentality and behaviour. If we are going to follow Christ, we must turn away from sin and all temptations to sin. 1Thess. 5:22 says, “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” Many Christians and preachers today are still caught up with their ancestral practices and religion. This explains the shaky faith today.
However, Abraham did not leave everything. He went with his father Terah and his nephew Lot. Abraham went through a lot because of this disobedience. When we disobey the instruction of our call we suffer for it. “Terah” means “delay” and “Haran” means “parched” or “dry.” Because Abraham sinned against God by bringing his father, it led to a delay in fulfilling God’s call. And, bringing Lot, led to conflict, eventual separation, and almost cost Abraham his life. As we follow Christ, everything brought from the world will cause us delay and pain. Also, when we don’t follow Christ wholeheartedly, it ultimately leads to dryness in our spiritual lives. Renounce the world not partially but absolutely.

Jesus, I am humbled that You consider me worthy to be used—in ways big and small—to accomplish Your will here on earth. Help me respond without hesitation whenever I perceive Your voice calling me into action.
Every effect of the spirit of delay over my life, be nullified by the blood of Jesus.
Every spirit of sluggishness and backwardness in my life receive the fire of God now and Holy Spirit revive me again in the name of Jesus.
Every behaviour, preventing good things in my life, be destroyed and I receive angelic transportation to where God wants me to be in the name of Jesus.
Father help to respond absolutely to your call. Teach me Holy Spirit to be separate from sin and the forces or vices of my background in the name of Jesus.
Lord Jesus lead me to the part of green pasture and revive my soul that i will be free from every spiritual delay and dryness in the name of Jesus.
