WITNESSLINE DEVOTIONAL: DAY SEVEN

THEME:
DIVINE CALL AND RESPONSE

DAY SEVEN

Genesis 12:2–3

“I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

MEDITATION

God’s call comes with many great promises. In the Bible God gives conditional and unconditional promises. “I will never leave you nor forsake you” is an unconditional promise. “Give and it shall be given unto you” is a conditional promise. With Abraham, God seems to give a conditional promise that later becomes unconditional (Gen 15). God says to him “Leave … I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you.” All of Abraham’s promises were based on his obedience to God. Therefore, each time we sing that beautiful “Abraham blessings are mine” we must equally learn the faith and discipline of Abraham. When we respond to God’s call we also enjoy the blessings enumerated. We equally move from conditional blessings to unconditional blessings. Our faithfulness when the blessings are conditional shows if we are fit for unconditional blessings. God promise to make Abraham a great nation and to bless those who him then curse those who curse him. Beloved, any one answering a call need not worry about provision and cares. The one who has called will definitely make provision for the mission. One answering a call need not worry over his adversary because God says I will curse those who curse you. All we need do is to be focus.

6 Intercessory Prayers:

Dear God, Thank you for your great love and blessing over our lives. Thank you that your favor has no end, but it lasts for our entire lifetime. Forgive us for sometimes forgetting that you are intimately acquainted with all of our ways, that you know what concerns us, and you cover us as with a shield.

As I obey the laws and teachings of the Lord, He shall bless me in many ways and set me on high above all nations of the earth in the name of Jesus.

Blessings shall come on me, and overtake me, as I listen to the Lord‘s voice. I shall be blessed in the city and in the field, and the LORD shall make my businesses and farms successful in the name of Jesus.

The Lord gives me the land, and makes sure I am successful in everything I do. The Lord commands His blessing upon my life and my harvests shall be so large that my storehouses will be full in the name of Jesus.

Father, in the name of Jesus, as I serve diligently in thy house and kingdom, cause me to flourish like the tree planted by the rivers of water.

Father, in the name of Jesus, give me the grace to always live a righteous life that will freely cause your blessing to flow in my life in the name of Jesus.

Father, in the name of Jesus, cause me to become a manifestation of your wisdom, understanding, might and counsel. Let me become a solution to my generation in the name of Jesus.
