CALL TO DISCIPLESHIP
******
DAY SEVEN
Matt. 4:19
“Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
These men were fishermen; but Jesus said to them I will make you fishers of men. They were called from fishing to be fishers of men; but many of us have gone back to fishing. I am not saying that fishing is sinful rather that we must not major on the minor and minor on the major. Our primary goal and message must not suffer while other ephemeral things strive. Many persons called into ministry would have been very excellent if only they left their nets and followed Jesus. Many carried their nets along, their old ways, their old mentality and their fetish background. We haboured certain mentality for years and this has corrupted the expression of our faith and ministry.
PRAYERS
1 Hail Mary 21 times and Thank you Jesus 21 times.
2 Bible Study: Matthew 4
3 Lessons:
Just as fish are attracted to the disciples light, God wants people to be drawn to His light shining through His people.
What we are use to does not necessarily imply our purpose in life
Jesus points out the purpose and destiny of every disciples.
4 Silence (5 to 10 minutes) (write down your own lessons; learn to hear from God and write down whatever God says to you)
5 The Litany to the Precious Blood of Jesus (as given on the first day)
6 Intercessory Prayers:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You that You are ordering my steps. Psalm 37:5, 23 says if I commit my ways to the Lord and trust in Him He will bring it to pass. I also thank You that this same passage says that a man’s steps are established by the Lord and He takes pleasure in his way. I thank You for taking pleasure in me and for establishing every step I take. Father, I thank You that Psalm 85:13 says that righteousness will go before me and prepare the way for my steps. Father, Psalm 119:35, 105 & 133 says You help me to stay on the path because you take pleasure in me. I also thank You that Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Thank You for making my steps steady through Your promises.
- Memory verse: Matt. 4:4
