THEME:
SPIRITUAL GROWTH
DAY FIVE
Luke 8:15
As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.
Mediation
Good heart: This refers to the seed that fell on good soil. A soil is good because of ploughing, weeding, watering and manuring. The good heart receives the word of God, weeds it, waters it, manures it for proper effective growth. The heart is made good by regular weeding of sins and negative habits, regular watering and nurturing of God’s word, regular meditation and reception of the sacraments.
PRAYERS
1 Hail Mary 21 times and Thank you Jesus 21 times.
2 Bible Study: Proverbs 6 (Special attention to 16-19)
3 Lesson:
Anyone who wants to grow spiritually must go for constant confession
Anyone who wants to grow spiritually must constantly manure his spirit through the word of God and the sacrament.
4 Silence (5 to 10 minutes) (write down your own lessons; learn to hear from God and write down whatever God says to you)
5 The Litany to the Precious Blood of Jesus (as given on the first day)
6 Intercessory Prayers:
Oh Lord! Teach me what your disciple and the early Christian knew that they willingly surrender their life on the altar of service.
Father, in the name of Jesus, sanctify me by the knowledge of your word, let your word mould, transform, build me for thy word is truth.
Father, grant me the spirit of wisdom and better revelation in the knowledge of you, help me to have a rich understanding of who you are. Open my spiritual eye that I may see my inheritance in you and the glory of my calling in Jesus name. Amen.
- Memory verses: Ephesians 4:32
