DANIEL 3:14-20, 24-25, 28; PSALM – DANIEL 3:52-56; JOHN 8:31-42
“If our God, the one we serve, is able to save us from the burning fiery furnace and from your power, O king, he will save us; and even if he does not, then you must know, O king, that we will not serve your god or worship the statue you have erected.” With these words Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego made it clear to King Nebuchadnezzar that they will not bow to his god and they won’t born in the fire he has made. This statement should inform our faith in the face of temptations and trials. No matter the trials “I will not bow and I will not burn”. When I am sick; “I will not bow to an idol and I will not die”; when I have no money “I will not steal and I will live”. When business is failing; “I will not bow and I will succeed”. Even when there is no success “I will not bow to demonic forces and juju worship”. Beloved, we need to have this faith mentality in order to do exploit today! Therefore, in every situation let us give praise to God; let us say in the words of today’s psalm “To you glory and praise for evermore” (Daniel 3:52-56). Beloved, in God’s word is our freedom. In the gospel Jesus says; freedom is based on our attentiveness and respect for God’s word. So, do not be tied down by earthly worship and gains. Do not hang your life and destiny around the status of the “King Nebuchadnezzars” of our time.
LET US PRAY
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light, to guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
