HOMILY FOR MONDAY IN HOLY WEEK (29/3/2021)

ISAIAH 42:1-7; PSALM 27; JOHN 12:1-11

In the gospel, Jesus says “I tell you most solemnly, one of you will betray me.” Beloved, we have had course to betray one that is very dear to us or one with whom we share sincere friendship. We  betray Jesus when we don’t stand for the truth. Again, we are told that a woman named Mary anointed the feet of Jesus while Judas was in a huff over such kind gesture. Often times we get angry at other peoples’ generosity. Beloved, guard against betrayal, envy  and corruption.

Let us pray

Grant, we pray, almighty God, that, though in our weakness we fail, we may be revived through the Passion of your Only Begotten Son. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
