ACTS 5:17-26; PSALM 34; JOHN 3:16-21
“The men you imprisoned are in the Temple, preaching to the people.” Peter and the other apostles were imprisoned because they were preaching about the risen Christ. Miraculously and astonishingly they were set free. No one can imprison the news about the risen Christ and no one can stop the work of evangelization. Beloved, beyond all odds and barriers let us continue to proclaim the risen Christ. Let us make Christ known and loveable. Similarly, the Gospel reading tells us that “God sent his Son into the world so that through him the world might be saved”. How can the world be saved if we don’t preach? Beloved, we must continue to preach by words and deeds so that many will come to believe in him and be saved.
LET US PRAY
Enable us, we pray, almighty God, to proclaim the power of the risen Lord, that we, who have received the pledge of his gift, may come to possess all he gives when it is fully revealed. Through Jesus Christ our Lord..
