ACTS 11:19-26; PSALM 87; JOHN 10:22-30
“It was at Antioch that the disciples were first called ‘Christians.’” Who will call us Christians today? The disciples were called Christians because their words and deeds were like Christ. Therefore, a Christian is someone whose behavior and heart reflects Jesus Christ. A Christian does the will of Jesus and keeps his words. Precisely because of this Jesus says in the gospel that “My sheep hears my voice and they follow me”. Beloved, those who hear and follow Jesus shall be protected and they shall gain eternal life. Jesus says “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand.” If we follow Jesus the devil will not snatch us away. If we follow Jesus we shall gain eternal life.
LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, help us to over our weaknesses that we may hear your voice and follow you. Keep us safe from evil, protect us from the hands of the wicked and guard us to eternal life. Amen.
