ACTS 17:15, 22-18:1; PSALM 149; JOHN 16:12-15
Jesus says “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth.” It is impossible to assimilate in a short period of time all that Jesus has to teach us. But if we remain open to the Spirit we shall get to know more. The Holy Spirit gradually unfolds God’s message to us and we get to see deeper truth revealed. We get to see how this truth is communicated to us through nature, philosophy and science. Paul in the first reading was open to the Holy Spirit and he demonstrated this divine truth using the philosophy of the ancient Greeks and more people believed and followed him. If we too are open to the Holy Spirit we shall argue less.
LET US PRAY
Grant us, O Lord, we pray, that the course of our world may be directed by your peaceful rule and that your Church may rejoice, untroubled in her devotion. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
