HOMILY FOR TUESDAY OF THE SIXTEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME, YEAR 1 (JULY 20, 2021)

EXODUS 14:21-15:1; EX.15; MATTHEW 12:46-50

In the first reading, God preserved the Israelites by making the sea a dry land for them to pass through. Beloved, those who trust in the Lord are never stranded. Just when you think there is no way out God makes a way beyond your imagination. After they had all crossed,  the sea closed over the Egyptians who pursued them. God continue to fight our battles for us. All we need is to trust him at all times. Without asking God to destroy our enemies, He will surely grant us victory over those who assail us. He says I will oppose those who oppose and fight against those who fight against you (Ps.35:1). Beloved, rather than complaining let us learn to pray, trust and obey.

LET US PRAY

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
