EXODUS 16:1-5, 9-15; PSALM 78; MATTHEW 13:1-9
Today’s Psalm says that “In their heart they put God to the test by demanding the food they craved. They even spoke against God. They said: ‘Is it possible for God to prepare a table in the desert?’” God overlooked the complaints of the Israelites and answered the prayers of Moses. God gave them quails and manna from heaven. Beloved, it is better to pray than to complain. ‘Is it possible for God to prepare a table in the desert?’ Yes it is possible; but we must exercise faith and trust in God. The disposition of our faith and heart is a necessary condition to experience God’s supernatural power. In line with this, Jesus gave us the parable of the sower. Telling us how the condition of the soil can affect the growth of a plant. In the same way, the conditions of our hearts make or mar our spiritual growth. Therefore, our hearts must be like the good soil that guarantees fruitfulness.
LET US PRAY
Father, we put our trust in you to supply all our needs according to your riches in glory. Like the good soil may our hearts guarantee fruitfulness. Amen.
