EXODUS 34:29-35; PSALM 99; MATTHEW 13:44-46
Exodus 34:30 says “…Seeing the skin of Moses’ face, they were afraid to come near him.” Moses did not use bleaching cream; rather he wore the face mask of God’s light and so the people could not behold the divine radiance. He encountered God and radiated same. This happens every time he meets with God. The same thing happens to us whenever we meet with God in prayers. In prayers our spirit man is so charged that no darkness is able to withstand its radiance. Let us do all within our power to treasure God’s presence. In this light, Jesus speaks of the kingdom as the greatest treasure in the gospel reading. Beloved, heaven is the greatest treasure in existence and whoever discovers it must renounce the world in order to attain it.
LET US PRAY
Father, teach us to value the place of prayer over and above other desires. Teach us to radiate your presence wherever we go and help us to conquer all that wants to distract us from your kingdom. Amen.
