DANIEL 13:1-9, 15-17, 19-30, 33-62; PSALM 21; JOHN 8:12-20
For those who are used to Bible stories; you should be familiar with the Chronicles of “Susannah and the elders”. A story that illustrates God’s help and justice for the innocent. Susannah was almost victimized by a wrong and biased judgement. She was sentenced for an act she did not commit. But through her prayers for divine help, God intervened and came to her aid. Many people today are suffering because of wrong judgements. May God come to our aid. Beloved, we must learn to lead with integrity. In the gospel Jesus says; ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.’ Lenten season is a period to embrace light. Let us resist the deeds of darkness, let us resist lies, injustices, pride, and lusts. May God defend the oppressed, the poor and the lonely around us. Susannah was almost condemned. Rather than condemning people, let us help each other to grow.
LET US PRAY
O God, by whose wondrous grace we are enriched with every blessing, grant us so to pass from former ways to newness of life, that we may be made ready for the glory of the heavenly Kingdom. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
