The Door of Salvation
ACTS 11:1-18; PSALM 42; JOHN 10:1-10
Today’s gospel presents us with the relationship between a shepherd and the sheep. Jesus says “I am the door; if anyone enters by me, he will be saved, and he will go in and out and find pasture.” Today we are faced with many open doors, the truth has been pluralized and multiplied. Prov. 14:12 tells us that “there is a way that seem right onto a man but the end is death.” Beloved, Jesus is the Door that leads to salvation. Follow Jesus and be saved! Again, he says; “The sheep hears the shepherd’s voice and they follow; they do not follow the voice of a stranger.” There are many voices today; some are strange, others are familiar voices. In all these, only one voice is reliable and dependable and that is the voice of God. Beloved, in this generation if we must be saved we must discern the true door and the only voice. Lastly, this door is open for us all. In the first reading Peter narrated how the same gift was given to the Gentiles by the Spirit. If God has open the door for us all, let us not hinder ourselves.
