A GENERATION OF SHORTCUTS AND QUICK WINS

Many of us in this generation are lovers of shortcuts. We want it big overnight. The Mustard seed does not become a big tree overnight. A seminarian does not become a priest overnight; a student of medicine does not become a medical doctor overnight. Pigs will fly before that will happen.

Albert Einstein did not invent the Quantum Theory of Light overnight; in fact, he spent much of his life researching theories of relativity, investigating space, time, matter and energy.

Charles Babbage did not invent the computer overnight, it took him years of study and research, he laboured in the fields of Mathematics, Philosophy, Engineering, Political economy and Computer science.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not become the richest soccer player in the world overnight.

Dangote did not become the richest black man on earth overnight. God did not create the world overnight.

Why would you want to make it overnight?

The chorused answer is; “What God cannot do does not exist” It is true that God can do all things; but the fact remains that he will not do all things.

God favours labour, he does not destroy it. “Success is not obtained overnight” says Israelmore Ayivor. Rather it comes in installments; you get a little bit today, a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out.

The day you procrastinate, you lose that day’s success. So, what you call overnight success actually took years of days and nights.
