BE READY
Ephesians 3:2-12; Psalm – Isaiah 12; Luke 12:39-48
“You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.” Many of us are anxious about the Divine plan that Christ will come at an hour we do not expect. Many people will prepare their life properly if a date is set, even though a significant proportion of people will still be caught off guard. Beloved, it’s an unexpected hour, it calls for absolute readiness.
The end-time reality calls for careful preparation rather than worry. Christ’s return is something to look forward to with delight. Christ’s coming is not a catastrophe but rather a cause for celebration. Don’t be anxious; sustain a worthy life.
Jesus says; “Blessed is that slave whom his master will find at work when he arrives.” Such servant shall be granted inheritance and be placed in charge of his master’s possession.
Again, Jesus says; “But if that slave says to himself, “My master is delayed in coming”, and if he begins to do otherwise he will definitely be caught unawares. Delay can cause attention to wander. It may equally result to annoyance and lack of concentration. We may be tempted to be carefree and careless. Time is eternal, you can’t waste time, you can only waste yourself. Make judicious use of the time you have now. Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.
Like Apostle Paul in the first reading (Eph.3:2-12) , let us acknowledge the effect of grace as we journey through this world. Grace is freely bestowed on us for sanctification and salvation. Christ says “…fom one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded” (Luke 12:48). If we cooperate with God’s grace, we shall be saved.
LET US PRAY
Father, in your goodness and mercy, grant us the grace we need to overcome darkness and embrace your light. Holy Spirit cast away or fears and fill us with hope, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
