Endurance
Rev. 15:1-4; PSALM 98; LUKE 21:12-19
Luke 21 speaks about the eschatological discourse of Jesus Christ. From verses 12-19 present us with the Persecution of the disciples. Jesus clearly stated that we shall be persecuted, he said do not worry about what to say, Ps.81:10 says “I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” No one under grace and power lack words amidst persecutions. Matt.10:20 says “For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”
Our confidence is based on the fact that Christ never abandons his people. Persecution will definitely come but Christ says by your endurance you will gain your lives. Endurance basically means that you have to stay focused and continue the journey of faith in spite of obstacles. If you can endure, you will enjoy.
In the first reading, John gives us a glimpse of people who have lived winning lives. This vision ought to inspire us to maintain our will and steadfastness in the face of life’s challenges.
LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus Christ, give us victory over every trial and grant us your salvation. Amen.
