BE CONFIDENT
ACTS 19:1-8; PSALM 67; JOHN 16:29-33
“Take courage: I have conquered the world!” with these words Jesus prepared our minds for the persecutions we might experience on account of his name. Beyond courage; the Amplified version reads “be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy”. Jesus want us to be happy amidst persecution so in Matt.5:10 he says; “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Therefore, approach your realities with confidence and joy.
Again, courage, confidence, fortitude or boldness is a function of the Holy Spirit. 2 Tim. 1:7 says “that God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power.” The Spirit makes us bold. Do not be hopeless and fearful. Paul reiterated this role of the Holy Spirit while he addressed the Christians Ephesus in the first reading. The Bible says; Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God (Acts 19:8). Beloved, the Holy Spirit makes us bold, strong, perfect Christians and soldiers of Jesus Christ.
LET US PRAY
May the power of the Holy Spirit renew our hearts, make us bold and strong in all situations. Amen.
