HOMILY FOR TUESDAY THE SECOND WEEK OF EASTER

Believers’ model

Acts 4:32–37; Psalm 92; John 3:7–15

“The whole group of believers was united, heart and soul.” This statement underscores the practice of the early Christian Church. They worked together to build the body of Christ. None of their members was ever in need, as everything they owned was held in common.

Today’s Christians have so much to learn from the early Christians. Our nation is blessed, our land is blessed, and our churches are blessed, but greed is taking over, and so we suffer want.

Consequently, Jesus calls us to conversion. He says in the gospel, “You must be born from above.” To be born from above is to be born again. We need to change our ways and follow the ways of the Spirit. Let us be converted and behave as children of God, united in heart and soul.

Let us pray. Enable us, we pray, almighty God, to proclaim the power of the risen Lord, that we, who have received the pledge of his gift, may come to possess all he gives when it is fully revealed. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
