HOMILY FOR MONDAY THE THIRTY FOURTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II

Call to faithfulness

Revelation 14:1-3/Psalm 24/ Luke 21:1-4

Today’s readings offer us a powerful vision of the end times and the ultimate triumph of God’s people. We see the Lamb, Jesus Christ, standing on Mount Zion, surrounded by the 144,000 who have been sealed with the mark of God.

As we reflect on this vision, let us ask ourselves: what does it mean to be part of this faithful remnant? It means being willing to give all that we have to God, just like the poor widow in the Gospel. It means having pure hearts and clean hands.

Again, faithfulness is not just about what we do, but about who we are in Christ. Let your identity in Him shape your actions. If we are faithful to him our promises will be connected to our actions.

When we are unfaithful, we not only break our promises to God, but we also break our own hearts. It steals our joy, our peace, and our purpose. The reward of faithfulness is not just what we get, but who we become in the process. Let us learn to be faithful believers!

Let us pray

May we strive to be faithful followers of Jesus, standing with Him on Mount Zion. AMEN!
