“MARY’S ‘YES’
Isaiah 7:10-14; Psalm 24; Luke 1:26-38
Today, we reflect on Mary’s profound “yes” to God’s will, as announced by the angel Gabriel. Her unwavering acceptance of God’s plan fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah and marked a pivotal moment in human history.
Mary’s example teaches us the importance of surrendering our will to God’s. As Christians, we are called to seek God’s will and express it in our lives. Jesus himself prayed, “Not my will, but Your will be done” (Luke 22:42).
Let us ask Mary, the Mother of God, to intercede for us, that we may receive the grace to say “yes” to God’s will in our lives.
PRAYER
O God, eternal majesty, grant that by Mary’s example, we may in humility hold fast to your will. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
