Wise builders
Isaiah 26:1-6; Psalm 118; Matthew 7:21: 24-27
Who shall enter the Kingdom of God? The first reading (Isaiah 26:1-6) says the righteous nation that keeps faith will enter. In the gospel, Jesus emphasizes that merely calling Him “Lord” is not enough for entry into the kingdom of heaven. True entrance comes from doing the will of the Father in heaven.
Jesus uses the analogy of two builders—one wise and the other foolish. The wise builder builds on a rock, and the foolish one builds on sand. The wise builder is compared to those who hear Jesus’ words and put them into practice. Their foundation is solid, like a rock, and their lives withstand trials.
The foolish builder, on the other hand, represents those who hear Jesus’ words but do not act upon them. Their foundation is weak, like sand, and their lives crumble when faced with challenges. If heaven is our goal, we must be wise, have clean hands and a pure heart, do his will, and obey his word.
Today is the Memorial of St. Ambrose, Bishop and Doctor he exalts us that repentance should not be delayed. Beloved, come to Jesus today.
LET US PRAY
O my Jesus, forgive us of our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls into heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.
