SEEK JESUS, NOT SIGNS
Galatians 4:22-24, 26-27, 31-5:1; Psalm 113; Luke 11:29-32
As we gather today, we reflect on Jesus’ words: “This generation is an evil generation; it asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” (Luke 11:29)
In our world, the pursuit of signs and wonders can lead individuals to seek spiritual experiences that are fleeting and superficial. Some churches and prophets focus on divination, incantation, and enchantment, claiming to predict events and manipulate outcomes. However, true faith requires a deeper foundation.
As Christians, we must guard our faith and recognize that our hope is not in signs or predictions, but in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The first reading reminds us that faithless Christians search for external validation, while faithful Christians seek Jesus.
Let us pray:
Father, have mercy on us and strengthen our faith. Grant us serenity and peace as we seek You, our Rock and Redeemer. Amen.
