Isaiah 26:7-9, 12, 16-19; Psalm 102; Matthew 11:28-30
The first reading presents us with the condition for a happy life or a troubled life. A happy life is determined by a righteous way of life; while a troubled life is caused by disobedience to God’s law. Precisely because of this, Jesus calls us to learn from him in the gospel. He wants us to be gentle and humble so that we can find rest for our souls. Humility and gentility are criteria for a happy life and eternal rest. God bless you.
THE MEMORARE
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
