HOMILY FOR WEDNESDAY THE THIRTY-FOURTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II

APOCALYPSE 15:1-4; PSALM 98; LUKE 21:12-19

In the Gospel, Jesus warns his disciples that they will suffer for him but he will be with them to strengthen them and to protect them. If we witness to the Lord we shall equally enjoy his protection. In the first reading, John presents us with the vision of those who have lived victorious lives. This vision should encourage us to remain steadfast and firm when we go through the battles of life.

LET US PRAY

Lord Jesus Christ, I believe in you as my God and my Saviour. Make me more faithful to your Gospel and commandments. By sharing in the Eucharist, may I come to live more fully in the life you have given me. Keep your Love alive within my heart and soul so that I may become worthy of you. Teach me to value and be thankful for all of your Gifts. Help us to strive for eternal life.
