REBUILDING THE BROKEN WALLS
DAY ONE: Nehemiah 2:3
The book of Nehemiah tells the true story of a Jewish slave, cupbearer to the king of Persia, and his mission to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. But this historical account is about much more than construction. In Nehemiah, we find plans that will help us rebuild the broken-down walls in our own world.
MEDITATION
Rebuilding the broken walls means restoring the foundational values, which over the years have been eroded or lost, due to our shift in emphasis. The resultant effect of having a broken wall is too grave for anyone to toy with. Wall signifies security, fortification, defense, security, and protection. If your walls are broken down you are exposed to danger and you are no longer fortified. In biological parlance, defense is one’s immune. Where the immune is destroyed the whole body is in trouble. Many people are in spiritual trouble today because the walls of their faith were broken, families are in crisis because the walls of love and unity were shattered. The wall of morality for many has been destroyed and so we have many warriors sleeping, the Deborah and Esther of our generation in brothels and club houses. What then is our hope? We must rebuild! In the days ahead we shall look at the various ways to achieve this.

Rebuilding my life
God, I humbly come to you knowing I have made mistakes.I come to you on my knees for forgiveness and to ask you for the opportunity to rebuild my life by engaging in work to meet my responsibilities and rebuild the relationship of my family, faith and life.
I am sorry God for all that I have done and know that I use this moment in time to realize the gifts you have given me and how I may use these gifts to rebuild. I pray to you for grace to do your will and to fulfill the purpose for which i was created. Help many who are lost and restore families, restore faith, restore healing and restore health. Amen.
