ACTS 13:26-33; PSALM 2; JOHN 14:1-6
Jesus said to Thomas “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life”. This is Jesus’ farewell speech. Farewell speech lets you say goodbye to your colleagues and publicly acknowledge their help, friendship and offer them words of encouragement to carry on irrespective of odds. In doing this, Jesus told his disciples to remain focus and he assures them of eternity. Beloved, Jesus is the way and there is no other way. Peter asked “Lord, to whom shall we go?” He is the truth: all other claims to truth are measured by him. He is the life: with him we have life in abundance. Therefore, do not let your heart be troubled. The state of the nation gives us every reason to be troubled but as Christians we know that every cloud has a silver lining. Every difficult or sad situation has a comforting or more hopeful aspect, even though this may not be immediately apparent.
LET US PRAY
O God, author of our freedom and of our salvation, listen to the voice of our pleading and grant that those you have redeemed by the shedding of your Son’s Blood may have life through you and, under your protection, rejoice for ever unharmed. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
