HOMILY FOR SATURDAY: FIFTH WEEK OF EASTER

Acts 16:1-10; Psalm 100; John 15:18-21

The first reading presents us with Paul’s second missionary journey. In spite of previous persecutions, Paul did not quit. In the gospel, Christ says we shall be persecuted for the sake of his name just as he was persecuted. Christianity is a warfare wherein winners don’t quit and quitters don’t win. I see you winning by his grace! Amen.

Let us pray

Act of Contrition

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because of thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve with the help of Thy grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.

Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
