Homily: Saturday the Twenty-seventh Week in Ordinary Time

Galatians 3:22-29; Psalm 105; Luke 11:27

In the first reading, Paul says “There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male or female; for all of you arenone in Christ Jesus” This statement was a revolution ; because before this time there was high level of distinction in the Jewish community. In the Kingdom of God we are one and so let us put aside all forms of division. The Church needs our collaboration to build up the body of Christ here on earth. In the Gospel, Jesus makes us to understand that the true blessing is in hearing and doing God’s word. James 1:22 says be doers of the word, and not hearers only. Otherwise, you are deceiving yourselves. God help us!

Let us pray

Father, your love for us surpasses all our hopes and desires. Forgive our failings, keep us in your peace and lead us in the way of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
