Hebrews 7:25-8:6; Psalm 40; Mark 3:7-12
Preaching, healing, exorcism and many others constitute the ministry of Jesus Christ. They also form the primary desires of the people; thus, they came to him from surrounding nations. The named places in the gospel represent the north, south, east, and west. This is a basic lesson during this week of Christian unity. Irrespective of our tribes and languages we all have similar needs before Jesus the Saviour. We come to him either for the word, healing, deliverance or salvation. Precisely because of this, the first reading reminds us that he is the high priest who truly meets our needs. He is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he lives to intercede for them. Beloved, we cannot be divided and still call on one God for salvation.
Let us pray
God grant us the patience to work together, bring us all together as a family. Let us work together with understanding and compassion in our hearts. Let us not be rude or arrogant towards one another, as we light the way to your heavenly kingdom. Amen
