The Power of Prayer
Galatians 2:1-2, 7-14; Ps.117, Luke 11:1-4
Today’s Gospel presents Jesus as the ultimate model of prayerful devotion. As He teaches His disciples the Lord’s Prayer, we are reminded of the transformative power of prayer.
Jesus begins with “Our Father” (Luke 11:2), acknowledging God’s paternal love and care. This prayer encapsulates life’s essence: past, present, and future. It seeks protection from evil, victory over sin, and forgiveness.
As St. Paul writes in Galatians 2:7-14, our faith is not based on human efforts but on God’s gracious initiative. We access this grace through prayer.
Let us reflect on our own prayer lives: Do we approach God with childlike trust? Do we seek forgiveness and extend mercy to others? Do we recognize God’s sovereignty over our lives?
As we celebrate Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, we recall that victory in life and faith begins on our knees. The Rosary is not old-fashioned; it is our weapon of victory and peace. It brings to mind the Paschal mystery of Jesus Christ. It reminds of his birth and presentation, his glorious and sorrowful moments, his joyous and luminous manifestations.
Let us go for the Word of God and the discipline of prayer.
Prayer
Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, teach us to love, forgive, and help each other. Amen.
