HOMILY FOR TUESDAY, HOLY WEEK YEAR A

Isaiah 49:1-6; Psalm 70; John 13:21-33, 36-38

There are two homily note here for our meditation

Fr. Dan Evbotokhai

The first reading speaks well of the servant of God, one who will be the light of the nations. The Psalm is the prayer of a man persecuted who seeks the help of God. In the gospel Jesus foretold the betrayal of Judas and Peter’s denial. Between Peter and Judas there are similarities and differences. Jesus once referred to them as devils Mt.16:23 and Jn.6:70-71. Judas betrayed Him Lk.22:48. Peter denied Him Mt.26:70-74. Peter repented. Judas did not. We all have sinned but repentance sets us apart. Let us repent of our sins.

Fr. Ephraim Itaman
1.‘We always find that those who walked closest to Christ were those who had to bear the greatest trials.’-St. Teresa of Avila
2.In the first reading, we see the Second Song of the Suffering Servant of the Lord.
3.Yesterday, we noted that this Suffering Servant of Lord in the Prophecy of Isaiah is Jesus Christ.
4.Here, Jesus, the Suffering Servant invites us to listen to him as he talks about:
his mission from the womb of the mother
the glorification of God through his life
the Lord as his recompense when everything seems to crumble
he as the light of the nations
and his mission to spread salvation to the ends of the word
5.Today, we are reminded that we also share in the Mission of Jesus Christ identified above.
6.We must not rest until the message of salvation dominates every heart.

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
Come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

First off I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I’d like
to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your
mind prior to writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my thoughts
in getting my ideas out there. I do enjoy writing however it
just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost
just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations
    or tips? Many thanks!
