1Kings 17:7-16, Ps. 4, Matt. 5:13- 16. 🗣🔥🔥🔥

In the gospel, we have the example of salt and light. Salt preserves and adds flavour to food. As salt let us bring taste to  the life of others. Light  helps us to appreciate what is good and avoid pitfalls. As light we must dispel darkness. Elijah acted in these capacities in his visitation to the widow at Zarephath. In obedience to God, Elijah brought light to her dark condition and preserves her life from death. Friends in Christ, let your light shine and save our world.

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.
