HOMILY FOR WEDNESDAY THE TWENTY-SECOND WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR 1 (1/9/2021)

Colossians 1:1-8; Psalm 52; Luke 4:38-44

Today’s Gospel tells us how Jesus left the synagogue (Luke4:38) and thereafter when daylight came he left the house and made his way to a lonely place (Luke 4:42). Jesus combined public prayer and private prayer.  A true Christian must engage in public prayer and private prayer. Today, we get to see Christians who spend hours on crusade grounds but will never pray at home for a minute. Private prayer makes public prayer meaningful and vice versa.  Again, the Gospel presents us with the healing of Simon’s mother-in-law from fever. All of us have fever either physically of spiritually. Do you believe in the healing power of Jesus? If you do; press into him for healing and see your miracle. Beloved, let us ask Jesus to rebuke our fever and make us whole.  Lastly, when we are made whole let us remember to serve like Simon’s mother-in-law. Let us spread the Good News of salvation.

LET US PRAY

Father, many of us need healing. We need healing spiritually and physically. We are tormented by plenty vices; Father heal us. We are sick of various diseases; Father heal us. As we begin a new month today let power flow into our hearts that we may rise from our fallen state to a higher level of grace and divine manifestation. Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit lift us up and let every fever disappear. Amen!

HAPPY NEW MONTH!!!
