HOMILY FOR SATURDAY, FIFTH WEEK OF EASTER

Persecuted but Not Defeated!

ACTS 16:1-10; PSALM 100; JOHN 15:18-21

“If they persecuted me, they will persecute you…” (John 15:20).

Christianity is not a comfort zone, it’s a combat zone! Jesus didn’t promise applause; He promised opposition. He was hated, misunderstood, betrayed. So why are you surprised when you face rejection for doing good? Truth be told: if the world celebrates you too much, you may not be carrying your cross well. Don’t seek to be liked, seek to be light! The gospel is not a popularity contest, and holiness will always irritate hell.

In Acts 16, Paul sets out on his second missionary journey after beatings, imprisonments, and insults. But did he give up? No! He burned brighter. Hear this: persecution is not your stop sign, it’s your signal to go deeper. You are not called to be passive but powerful, not to quit but to conquer. Haters can’t stop your mission if heaven has endorsed it. So, tighten your belt, fix your gaze on the cross, and declare: Even if the world rejects me, I will still reflect Christ!

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, give us bold hearts that do not fear rejection, a resilient spirit that outlives persecution, and a burning desire to follow You regardless of the cost. May we never be ashamed of the Gospel, but proclaim it with courage and conviction. Amen!
