DESERT TO BETHEL
GENESIS 28:10-22; PSALM 91; MATTHEW 9:18-26
Jacob slept on a stone, but woke up under an open heaven (Gen 28:11–12). What felt like a lonely desert became Bethel (the House of God). Sometimes, the place you call “nowhere” is where God calls you to encounter Him. Even in dry, dusty seasons, heaven still speaks.
Jacob turned his stone pillow into a pillar of praise (Gen. 28:18). He made a vow: “If You won’t quit on me, I won’t quit on You” (Gen. 28: 20–22). What once weighed him down became what lifted him up. Raise your stone, God turns pain into purpose.
Whatever your situation might be, your desert can be the house of God. Your darkest nights, your loneliest corners, may just be the very places where heaven chooses to touch the earth.
Like Jacob, Jarius, and the bleeding woman, we must reach out in faith (Mark 5:21–43). Healing flows where there is belief. The ladder Jacob saw is our call to pray. So keep climbing, no shortcuts, just steady faith. God still answers.
Prayer
Lord, meet us in our wilderness. Turn our burdens into altars and our trials into testimonies. Teach us to pray, believe, and never give up. Amen.
