HOMILY FOR THURSDAY THE THIRTY FOURTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR I

 PRAYER OR PREY?

Daniel 6:12-28; Psalm – Daniel 3:68-74; Luke 21:20-28

Daniel didn’t only pray; he also revolted against the king’s destructive decree. True men of prayer don’t bow to evil; they rise against it. If we claim to be people of prayer, then we must also revolt against wickedness and resist the evil men trying to silence righteousness.

Daniel prayed, and lions lost their appetite.
Today, many Christians complain more than they pray, fear more than they stand, and panic more than they believe. No wonder the “lions” of corruption, insecurity, hardship, and fear keep chewing on this nation.

Men of prayer don’t escape battles; they outlive them. Men of prayer are not problem-free; they are problem-proof. And in these end-time moments, prayer is not an option; it’s survival. If Daniel could shut the mouths of lions, we too must rise in prayer and revolution to silence the lions devouring Nigeria.

PRAYER
Lord, ignite in us a Daniel-kind of courage. Strengthen our knees for prayer, steady our hearts for battle, and shut every lion’s mouth raised against us. Amen.
