HOMILY FOR MONDAY OF THE TENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME (7/6/2021)

2Corinthians 1:1-7; Psalm 34; Matthew 5:1-12

In the Gospel, we have the Beatitudes (Matt:1-12). The beatitudes are Christ’s commentaries on our attitude. They give us the perfect outline for authentic Christian life and salvation. They are simple expression of the life and ministry of Jesus. They are not alien to Christ, he lived them and he invites us to do the same. Beloved, what is our attitude today? This attitude discuss continues in the  first reading, Paul says that “God comforts us in all our sorrows, so that we can offer others, in their sorrows, the consolation that we have received.” How do we use our experiences, benefits, consolations and gifts? Do they help or hinder others? Beloved, attitude is everything! If we can live out the Beatitudes then we shall find true happiness and peace.

LET US PRAY

O God, from whom all good things come, grant that we, who call on you in our need, may at your prompting discern what is right, and by your guidance do it. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
