HOMILY FOR TUESDAY OF THE 25TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME (St. Pio)

GOD’S TEMPLE

(Ezra 6:7-8, 12, 14-20; Psalm 121; Luke 8:19-21)

The Israelites rebuilt God’s Temple under King Darius and reinstated the priesthood as Moses commanded. The Temple was more than a building, it was a place of worship, sacrifice, and God’s presence. Today, that Temple is your heart, your body, and our Church.

The Church celebrates the memorial of St. Padre Pio today. By his life and preaching he teaches us that; “Prayer is the oxygen of the soul.” Like him, make prayer and sacrifice your daily bricks in rebuilding God’s Temple within you. A temple without prayer collapses; by prayer you can be revived! Pray now!

He says, “Stay close to the Eucharist.” Padre Pio drew his strength from daily Mass and the Sacrament of Confession. A Temple without the Eucharist is empty; a Temple filled with Christ becomes a powerhouse of grace. Return devoutly to the Eucharist.

He says, “Suffering is a gift.” Padre Pio bore wounds of Christ and offered his pains for souls. Turn your trials into sacrifices — they purify and fortify your Temple for God.

“Charity is the measure of holiness.” Padre Pio poured himself out for others in love. Your Temple isn’t complete until it becomes a place of mercy, service, and compassion.

 Prayer:

Lord, teach me to do Your will, rebuild Your Temple in my life, and make me a soul of prayer like St. Pio. Amen!
