HOMILY FOR THE SOLEMNITY OF OUR LADY, QUEEN AND PATRONESS OF NIGERIA

Nigeria’s Future

Isaiah 11:1–10; Ps. 72; Eph. 2:13-22; Matt. 2:13–15, 19–23

Today we honor Our Lady, Queen and Patroness of Nigeria, as our nation marks 64 years of independence. Isaiah’s vision reminds us that even from a broken stump, new life can spring forth. Nigeria may be wounded, but she is not dead! The right person in office can change our story.

Yes, we face corruption, insecurity, and setbacks, yet God calls us to rise with faith, hope, and courage. Mary, our Mother, shows us that surrender to God opens the door to restoration. If we cling to her Son, Nigeria will not only survive, it will shine as a beacon of peace and justice.

Beloved, don’t just complain about Nigeria—pray for her, work for her, do it right, and believe in her. We are Nigeria’s future, if we fail, the future fails. Again, I say do it right! May Nigeria be great again.

Happy New Month! May Our Lady intercede for us all.
